‪Eliminating Death - Part 1 - Death as Waste‬

G Stolyarov

GStolyarov II

Posted: Jun 4, 2012

Mr. Stolyarov begins his explanation of why death is the greatest enemy of humankind. Death forever robs us of the minds, experiences, and contributions of billions of individuals, who are often not even remembered after they die.

I cannot watch the video, but as much as I would like to agree that death should be eliminated, population is our number one problem on this planet. It is unlikely that any sort of population control will be effected before the problem becomes critical (it is actually critical now), but also having immortals on the planet would mean that they would only be the rich, not the most productive or the smartest. Even if by some fluke, the treatments are opened up tho the entire population, then population becomes a severe problem. It's a lose-lose proposition.

@nude0007

The over population myth is disturbing in that it does not apply exponential technology growth across sectors. The population would less of a burden on health care systems, and agricultural projects would take on new incarnations, for example. Let's not forget that we always make the decision as a society to have less children when our quality of life increases. Defeating the diseases of aging and death are fundamental to human prosperity..not all 'value' is monetary. End suffering and the loss of wisdom..choose life!
