“Is Internet access and online freedom of expression a basic human right? The United Nations’ Human Rights Council unanimously backed that notion in a resolution this summer.”
This is really interesting and has many ramifications. I believe that individual humans and society are influencing each other in a way that can lead to increased human longevity. If humans have rights, would society (including the internet as a whole) have the same or comparable rights?
The argument is that society, the internet and other large agents should have rights if these rights enhance humans themselves. Having the right to internet access is a first step to the internet having rights itself.
