Welcome our new IEET Fellow, Dr. Ben Goertzel

Posted: Apr 21, 2008

The IEET Board of Directors and I are delighted that the esteemed artificial intelligence researcher Dr. Ben Goertzel has accepted our invitation to become an IEET Fellow. Ben’s (partial) bio here.

I’m sure most of you are already aware of the really exciting work that Ben has been doing for fifteen years on developing artificial general intelligence. But perhaps fewer of you have had a chance to read Ben’s very interesting, and “technoprogressive,” thoughts about human enhancement and the future of human evolution.

Check out his book The Path to Posthumanity for instance.

We have put up a very nice essay by Ben, “Artificial Wisdom,” on the IEET website.

And are looking forward to learning more CyborgBuddhological type insights from his scholarship on the cognitive bases of creativty, wisdom and intelligence.
