Learning to re-grow limbs from the sea squirt

Sea squirts are apparently more closely related to humans than other animals that regrow parts that you cut off. We branched apart about half a billion years ago. Stanford researchers are unlocking the mechanisms they use to regrow amputated limbs see if we could do it also, and maybe regrow other damaged tissues like livers, hearts and brains.
