We’ll likely never touch the man, sit in the same room, or establish rapport with him. But he has nonetheless infected all of us quite intimately — some of us willingly, and some less so. That’s because he is less invasive as a person than he is as a virus. Yes, Donald Trump is a media virus, in the truest sense of the term.

Something quite similar to the Occupy of six years ago is brewing right now. America will engage with agendas, though nothing much will come of it. What consensus can a massive super-diverse un-virtuous—that is to say, Romanesque—nation such as the US reach?

That marijuana shall be legalized in all 50 states? Yes.
That Roe v Wade ought to be left standing? Yes.
That gay marriage laws ought to be left standing? Yes.

Yet once you get past win-win civil libertarian issues, what do we do; what consensus can be reached after engaging with agendas? If we are to engage with agendas for the sake of engaging with agendas, no argument.
