IEET Affiliate Scholar Franco Cortese has published a new paper in the August Issue of Rejuvenation Research with co-author Dr. Giovanni Santostasi of Feinberg School of Medicine, Northwestern University.

The paper is the first in the scientific literature to propose the turnover and replacement of whole organs and tissues via coordination of induced cell ablation with replacement cell administration in a gradual, multi-phasic manner so as to preserve the structural and functional integrity of tissues and organs at all times throughout the procedure. The paper is also the first in the scientific literature to analyze the feasibility of and required methodological and technological components for effecting the whole-body replacement of somatic cells with hPSC-derived cells.
