In responding to a recently concluded poll, IEET readers selected bioengineering as the emerging technology most likely to make a big impact during this decade.

Bioengineering got 40% of the votes cast, with Nanotechnology coming in second at 26%. Closely vying for third place were Artificial Intelligence at 15% and Robotics at 13%. Bringing up the rear was Geoengineering with just 6%.
