CSR presents Part Two of a Feb. 9, 2004 speech by Dr. Stephen Bezruchka, author of a series of books on the Himalayas, and a series of articles on the connections between inequality, globalization and health. Dr. Bezruchka set up SCALPEL, which links Nepali surgeons to medical officers posted to rural hospitals. Currently he teaches in the International Health Program at the School of Public Health and Community Medicine in the University of Washington, where he directs the Population Health Forum. Dr. Bezruchka has an essay in the forthcoming South End Press volume Sickness and Wealth: The Corporate Assault on Global Health.
