Distributed Creativity of the Electric Sheep

Scott Draves is the inventor of Fractal Flames and the leader of the distributed computing project Electric Sheep. He also invented patch-based texture synthesis and published the first implementation of this class of algorithms. He is also a video artist and accomplished VJ.

Art has always been an important aspect of social change, and in this video Scott shows us cutting edge ways to create beautiful imagery with computer algorithms. It was filmed by Adam Ford on May 14-15 2011 for Humanity+ International which was partnered with Parsons The New School for Design in New York City.

On May 14-15 2011, Humanity+ International is partnered with Parsons The New School for Design in New York City to produce Transhumanism Meets Design. The conference was co-chaired by Ed Keller, Associate Dean of Distributed Learning at Parsons and Natasha Vita-More, Chairperson of Humanity+. The aim was to explore emerging technology, transdisciplinary design, culture and media theory, and biotech.
