Africa Needs NO Religion, for Peace and Development

For the young generation in Uganda, all they get is the constant demand to live a godly life, both at home and at school. Parents teach their children how to pray in times of trouble, instead of thinking and discussing solutions to problems based on science and logic. African youth who try to use their minds well are hindered by inadequate resources, hatred, superstition, and religious-obsessed communities.

Religion should be attacked in Africa.

Churches are emerging in every corner of Uganda’s settlement areas and pastors and other religious leaders are milking the ignorant innocent citizens. There are endless promises of the good life in Heaven and unexplained miracles are common.

Churches would have great meaning if they cared about people’s lives, but most worship centers are disgusting just like the communities they are situated in. No toilets, urinals, or water. No food, no security and many reports of family violence and child abuse.

Why do we still have these worship places around us? Why do we call unto gods if they cannot respond to even to the smallest call of a crying child? They are all useless. Africans should ask why gods are not responding to their queries.

Schools, hospitals, and health units in Africa will continue to produce many ignorant minds because they allow religion to rule in these institutions. African schools in our communities should be based not on religion but science.

The only operative of a church or mosque is to look beautiful on worship days, to make money.

What hurts the most is the nature of the doctors and other professionals we have in Africa. They don’t believe in the science they studied. At hospitals, signs say “God cares”, and “We Treat and God Heals.” At school, the mottos are “Knowledge is from God” or “Respect God and Excel in Life”.

We need NO religion to have development and peace. Africa needs secular and objective brains to work hard and enlighten the uninformed citizenry.

The internet is helping us to connect with other clever minds and we hope to bring positive change to our communities.

Religion has harmed education in Uganda, religion has abused human rights.

We need uninformed medical doctors, teachers and students to get enlightened about the cons of mythical beliefs, such as snakes speaking. We need to value scientific research’s but not useless religious agendas.

We need to encourage individuals to value love, unity, kindness, and integrity. Free minds that consider humanity before gods is what we need.

I hope, one day, that all those whose minds are locked up in religion, they will open their minds to secular views.
