Owen Nicholas: IEET’s “Intern of the Month”
Owen Nicholas
Apr 1, 2012

In mid-February, Owen Nicholas, a recent graduate of Nottingham University in the UK, volunteered to help IEET out as an intern. Since then, he has single-handedly written four essays, including the #11 Most Popular 2012 First Quarter article, “Meditation Boosts the Brain”. Additionally, his recent article, “Will Iran get to the Moon?” has been awarded with a reposting by the World Future Society.

Owen Nicholas has also written an IEET essay on the smart drug Piracetam, and he produced a report of present-day euthanasia activism in the UK. Currently, he is working on one of his favorite topics, the relationship of Japanese anime to transhumanism.

IEET welcomes interns, especially journalists who want to tackle techno-progressive and futurist topics.  Other tasks are also highly-valued; for example, translating scholastic research from Mandarin, Russian, German, etc., or transcribing hard-copy essays, as Molly Brown laboriously did in the four-part series entitled “Buddhist Feminism”, written by James Hughes.

Anyone interested in assisting IEET as an intern should contact either Executive Director James Hughes at director@ieet.org, or Managing Director Hank Pellissier at hankpellissier@yahoo.com.

The next “Intern of the Month” could be… YOU!
