Seventeen New Advisory Board Members at IEET - seeking 15 more

Jun 17, 2015

Seventeen people have joined IEET’s new Advisory Board. The purpose of this supportive group is to help us promote our mission, expand our community and infuse our progress with enthusiasm.

The seventeen are: Adrian Cull, Soenke Ziesche, Chad White, Kourosh Afrashteh, Marc Roux, Mark Waser, Alexey Turchin, William Manning Hiltman, Nicole Sallak Anderson, Brent Logan Reitze, Thomas Damberger, Steven Umbrello, Stefan Pernar, Daniel Faggella, David Eubanks, Gabriel Rothblatt, and Tery Spataro.

This excellent assembly provides a wide variety of talents to IEET - the list includes marketers, AI philosophers, artists, writers, business people, and scientists in multiple fields.

Waser, Reitze, Ziesche, Roux, Turchin, and Anderson have already published articles on IEET’s blog.

IEET intends to enroll fifteen more Advisory Board members - we’re accepting inquiries until July 1.

Advisory Board Members will:

1. Provide suggestions on conference topics, locations, and speakers

2. Nominate potential Fellow and Affiliate Scholar appointments

3. Guide IEET towards potential alliances, fundraising opportunities, and blog contributors

4. Participate in quarterly surveys to gauge our stance on emerging technology and political developments

Advisory Board Members receive several benefits:

1. Advisory Board Members are added onto the ieet@ieet.org list, which currently includes only staff, affiliates, fellows and interns. This list is where jobs, CFPs (calls for papers) and other academic and professional announcements are posted.

2. Their Advisory Board Member position will be noted on the Staff page of IEET.

3. Advisory Board Members receive two free tickets to parties and fundraising events that IEET sponsors or co-sponsors, and discounts on IEET conferences.

4. Advisory Board Members receive a free ebook.
