Strong Consensus on Improving Human Morality

Nov 24, 2010

Two-thirds of those responding to a recently concluded poll of IEET readers say that human morality is not fixed, that it can be improved “” and that we see it happening all the time.

About 13% of respondents think it will require brain-based technological intervention to make meaningful improvements to human morality, while 5% believe we can look forward to an AI mind that will be both smarter and better than us. Almost 9% are in the camp that says we are stuck with what evolution has given us, now and for the foreseeable future.
