More Than Half of You See a Global Democracy by 2100

Nov 29, 2012

We asked “By 2100 what will the international political system be based on?”  More than half of you were optimistic that we would achieve some kind of democratic world government.

Barely. of the 160 of you who responded 53% thought we would either have a global “direct democracy through electronic referenda” or a “representative democracy with directly elected legislators.”  A third thought we would muddle through with our current federal system - the United Nations etc. - and a cheery one in seven thought there would be a world totalitarian regime by 2100.
