IEET Audience Overwhelmingly Supportive of Turing Test
Jun 27, 2014

Two thirds of the 278 respondents to our poll on the Turning Test believe that “It is a strong indication of a mind like a human’s.”

Another 21% thought it had some significance. Only 13% believe it is meaningless.

Our new poll is “If a gene therapy that added fifty years of life was safe and effective, should parents be legally required to give it to their children?”

I’m suspicious. There was only a small minority who selected the ‘strong indication of a mind like a human’s’ option and all of a sudden a huge wave of people come in and it ends up winning the poll. The end win was, more likely than not, the result of vote stuffing.
