Lorenz Sorgner: Transhumanism - “The most dangerous idea in the world”!?

Transhumanism addresses central current challenges and illustrates the radical changes in paradigms that currently take place, such as a revision of the “human dignity” concept, a departure from speciesism, new family concepts, gene analyzes and genetic modifications as the future of parental education Metahumanities.

The lecture deals with this cultural and philosophical movement. It provides a general overview of the history and the most important concerns of transhumanism and links them with controversial discourses on the theme of enhancement

The speaker is Stefan Lorenz Sorgner, Professor of Philosophy at the John Cabot University in Rome and guest lecturer at the Institute of Philosophy at the Friedrich Schiller University in Jena. He is one of the leading post- and transhumanist philosophers of Germany.
