LOGOS. Anales del Seminario de Metafísica (VOL. 53, 2020)
Special Guest Editor: Mariano Rodríguez González

The astonishing development of N(ano)B(io)I(nfo)C(ognitive) technologies in our global digital society has strengthened the idea that the possibilities opened up by the artificial improvement of the human being, which would help or even replace education in the humanist traditional sense, may or must finally lead to the transition to a new species, to true post-humans superior to all the past humans in terms of their biological and cognitive potentialities. Transhumanist philosophers today are proposing an imagery populated by supercapable cyborgs, the suspension of aging, genetic interventions that make us immune to AIDS and many other diseases, the singularity of a superintelligence that will either enslave us or liberate us from all painful or routine labors, and/or even a universe where suffering has been removed as an indispensable biological function and we have at hand the immemorial dream of immortality under the form of digital immortality in the cloud.

Logos. Anales del Seminario de Metafísica calls for contributions that analyze transhumanist thought for its next special issue. These contributions can be made from the following perspectives: history of thought, epistemology and philosophy of mind, anthropology, bioethics, social and political philosophy and philosophy of science.

The issue (vol. 53, 2020) will be edited by Professor Mariano Rodríguez González, and the deadline for submissions is the 15th October 2019. All the proposals must follow strictly the instructions for authors of Logos. Anales del Seminario de Metafísica, which can be found in the following link:
