b) Devil's Game – If you add up all the numbers on the roulette wheel, you get the sum of 666. This is why roulette is often called the "devil's game." Since the game is based more on luck than strategy, you certainly have to tell yourself that in the event of a bad streak, hell itself is conspiring against you.
c) King of the casino – But roulette also enjoys a more noble name. It is nicknamed “king of the casino.” The reason was (and is) its great popularity not only among the European aristocracy. Especially in Monte Carlo.
d) Big Wins – There is a song called “The Man Who Broke the Bank at Monte Carlo”. This song is based on a true story – engineer Joseph Jagger actually broke the bank in Monte Carlo after noticing that one roulette wheel was unbalanced, causing certain numbers to come up more often than others. In 1873, he made a huge amount of money. We will discuss the story of Joseph Jagger in one of our articles.
e) All or Nothing – In 2004, Ashley Revell decided to sell all his assets and bet the proceeds ($135,300) on a single spin of roulette. We will discuss Ashley Revell’s story again in a separate article.
f) One zero or two zeros? – The original roulette had two zeros. It was only later that roulette was divided into French Roulette (one zero) and American Roulette (two zeros).
