IEET Fellow Stefan Sorgner is busy with Conference, Symposium, Film Discussion

Posted: Sep 22, 2012

Stefan Lorenz Sorgner is extremely productive. Recently he organized a conference in Dubrovnik, he is participating in an analysis of the film “Mensch 2.0 - Die Evolution in unsure Hand” and his most recent monograph is the subject of a symposium organized by the Nietzsche Forum in Munich.

“Mensch 2.0” is the latest documentary film directed by Alexander Kluge and Basil Gelpke. It takes the work of Kurzweil, Warwick and Stelarc (among others) into consideration. Information is available here: http://www.aktion-mensch.de/filmfestival/film.php?fid=63

After the screening of the film there will be a public discussion with Stefan Lorenz Sorgner and the film directors. Both the screening and the discussion will take place in the cinema mon ami in Weimar at the 23rd of September from 8 pm onwards.

In addition, the Nietzsche Forum Munich has organized a conference which is based on the most recent monograph by Stefan Lorenz Sorgner (Menschenwürde nach Nietzsche, WBG 2010) in which he proposes a new concept of dignity which takes both trans- and posthumanism into consideration. The conference will take place in the Seidl-Villa in Munich in between the 25th and 27th of October 2012. Sorgner will also respond to his critics at the event:
