James Hughes Ph.D., the Executive Director of the Institute for Ethics and Emerging Technologies, is a bioethicist and sociologist. He previously served as the Associate Provost for Institutional Research, Assessment and Planning for the University of Massachusetts Boston.

Steven Umbrello currently serves as the Managing Director at the Institute for Ethics and Emerging Technologies and he is also a researcher at the University of Turin.

Marcelo Rinesi is the IEET’s Chief Technology Officer and former Assistant Director. He is a freelance Data Intelligence Analyst. He is also a fiction writer and has published a short SF novella The Ontociders and a collection of SF short stories, The Fatou Entries.
